Weather outlook of Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa; more rains likely

PESHAWAR – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast scattered rains with snowfall over the mountains for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday evening/night and the following day.

According to the synoptic situation, a westerly wave is affecting western parts of Balochistan. It will likely move northwestwards and may affect the upper parts of Pakistan during the next 24 hours.

Under these conditions, cold and partly cloudy weather is expected in Peshawar and most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday evening/night and Saturday.

Light rain and snowfall over high mountains are likely in Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Waziristan and Kurrum on Friday evening/night.

On Saturday, rain with snowfall over high mountains is likely in Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Balakot, Manshera, Abbottabad, Mardan, Swabi, Malakand, Waziristan and Kurrum.

In Peshawar, minimum temperature will likely remain between 03-05 degrees Celsius on Saturday and Sunday.

Meanwhile, cold and dry weather prevailed across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last 24 hours.

Kalam remained the coldest place in the province where mercury dropped 05 C below freezing.

In Peshawar, minimum temperature was recorded at 03 C.

Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 100 per cent.
