Virat Kohli to retire in 2022? BIG statement from RCB batter is news of the day. Read out the complete details down below with us!
Former India captain Virat Kohli has had a rough patch in international cricket. In the IPL 2022, he scored three ducks, two of them on first balls. Many cricket experts said Kohli should rest. Ben Stokes and Glenn Maxwell are two international cricketers who took breaks. Cricket experts expect Virat to succeed. Virat Kohli never said whether he’d take a break, but now he knows. In an interview with Star Sports, the former RCB captain said he would consider retiring after consulting with India head coach Rahul Dravid and the team’s management. In RCB’s last league match, Virat returned to form. The talisman scored 73 runs in 54 balls in a must-win match. VK fans were ecstatic when runs came while chasing a target, as Virat is known as the Chase Master.
“There’s one person precisely who has mentioned it, which is Ravi Bhai and that’s because he has seen from close quarters over the last six-seven years the reality of the situation that I have been in. Therefore, the amount of cricket that I have played and the ups and downs. Together with the toll that it takes on you to play three formats of the game. Plus the IPL for 10-11 years non-stop with the seven years of captaincy in between,” he told Star Sports in an interview.
“So to take a break and when to take a break is obviously something. So I need to take a call on. But it is only a healthy decision for anyone to take some time off and just rejuvenate yourself mentally and physically,” Virat added.
“It’s only a matter of creating a balance and finding the right balance for you as an individual moving forward. Also, I will definitely discuss this with all the people involved – Rahul bhai, the Indian team management. So, everyone to chart out whatever is best for myself and for the team definitely.”
