Three children among 4 injured in blast near school in Peshawar

PESHAWAR – At least four people including three children were injured in a roadside bomb blast on Warsak road in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa capital city of Peshawar on Tuesday morning.

Reports said a private bank and a school were located near the site where the explosive material was planted by unknown persons.

Glass doors and windows of the bank and nearby shops were broken due to the blast, sparking fear among commuters and residents of the area.

A police team and rescue official reached the spot and shifted the injured children to the Lady Reading Hospital for treatment.

Police said the area has been cordoned off to collect evidence, adding that investigation has also been launched to find how the explosives were transported to this place.

A spokesperson of the hospital said four injured including three children were brought for the treatment to the medical facility. He said two of the children aged between 7 to 10 years are in critical condition.
