The provincial governments across Pakistan are slated to announce winter holidays for schools as the weather turns cold.
Some reports in local media claimed early winter vacations in Pakistan due to smog, however, the reports turned out to be false, as no official confirmed the development.
Last week, the government and private schools across parts of Punjab remained closed for a three-day weekend but the educational activities continued on Monday, despite alarming air pollution.
It has been learned from reliable sources that the government has decided against extending regular winter vacations, and the schools and other educational institutions will remain closed from late December to early January.
Schools in Punjab, and other regions remained closed from December 24th to January 9th, and the winter vacations are likely to be held as per the previous years.
School Education Department (SED) will officially announce the winter vacation holidays notification in the coming days.
