Pakistan lifts all Covid-related restrictions to facilitate travellers

ISLAMABAD – The Government of Pakistan has lifted all travel restrictions related to Covid a disease that has claimed thousands of lives since it erupted in the country in 2020.

Officials from the Ministry of Religious Affairs said there is no need to submit Covid vaccination certificate for Hajj applications.

They said the ministry will issue a new advisory in the light of the instructions of the Saudi government before sending pilgrims to the kingdom for Hajj.

The health officials said that all those who are travelling to Pakistan will no longer be required to present vaccination certificates or corona negative test report.

Tthe National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) said that the decision to remove the travel restrictions was made in the light of the guidelines of the World Health Organization.

It said a process to conduct medical test of two percent of passengers daily for Covid at Pakistani airports and points of entry had also been abolished. However, surveillance related to epidemic diseases will continue at the airports.
