Ombudsman institutions to foster cooperation in complaint handling: CM Baqar

Caretaker Sindh Chief Minister Justice Maqbool Baqar has said that the provincial Ombudsman of Sindh and the Chief Ombudsman of Thailand are working to foster international cooperation in the field of complaint handling, good governance, capacity building and Ombudsman-ship.

This he said while meeting with the Chief Ombudsman of Thailand/President of IOI Asia Region here at CM House. President of Rayong Province Red Cross Chapter Mrs Nipa Suwansujrait, Deputy Thailand Consul General Mrs Siriporn Tantipanyathepo.

The meeting was attended by Provincial Ombudsman Sindh, Aijaz Ali Khan, his Advisor Rehana Memon, Secretary of Health Dr Mansoor and others. The CM appreciates the visionary step of both the Ombudsman Institutions, Sindh, and Thailand for signing the MOU for international cooperation in the field of public complaints handling and Ombudsman-ship. On the invitation of Mr. Ajaz Ali, Provincial Ombudsman Sindh, Chief Ombudsman Thailand / President, Asian Region, IOI and his spouse Mrs Nipa President Rayong Province Red Cross Chapter, Thailand, came to their first-ever visit to Sindh and called on the Chief Minister Sindh at Chief Minister Secretariat.

Both the Ombudsmen’s offices in a ceremony in the presence of Sindh Minister Justice (R ) Maqbool Baqar also signed an MOU for mutual cooperation. The Sindh Chief Minister presented the traditional Sindhi cap, Ajrak to distinguished guests and expressed that mutual collaboration and experience sharing will definitely play a role in bringing the Ombudsman offices as role models in redressal of grievances of the public.
