New fee for learner driving license in Rawalpindi from January 1, 2024

LAHORE – The Punjab government has announced a massive increase in fees for learner driving license for car and motorcycle, starting from January 1, 2024.

The development comes as the traffic police have launched a large-scale crackdown against those driving vehicles without license. They are imposing heavy fines on people in order to push them to get the license.

It is mandatory to get a learner driving license to get a permanent one, which is issued after assessing the applicants in theoretical and practical tests.

The existing fees for new learner driving license for car and motorcycle is Rs60 and it is applicable till December 31 only.

The provincial government has decided to increase license fee from Rs60 to Rs1,000 for Car, Motorcycle license with effect from January 1, 2024 in all cities, including Rawalpindi.

The provincial government has increased number of offices for issuance of the licenses after people started applying for them massively following a crackdown launched by the traffic police.
