More rains forecast for Islamabad, Rawalpindi, parts of Pakistan

ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rains for Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Thursday evening/night.

According to the synoptic situation, a westerly wave prevails over upper parts of Pakistan. It is likely to persist during next 24 hours.

Under these conditions, partly cloudy weather is expected in most parts of the country on Thursday evening/night and the next two days.

However, rain-thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills is expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Pothohar region, northeast Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir on Thursday evening/night.

Smog/fog is likely to prevail in upper Sindh, plain areas of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during morning hours.

In Islamabad, minimum temperature is likely to remain between 06-08 degrees Celsius on Friday and 05-07 C on Saturday.

In Rawalpindi, minimum temperature is likely to remain between 11-13 C on Friday and 10-12 C on Saturday.

Meanwhile, cold and dry weather prevailed in most parts of the country during the last 24 hours.

However, rain-thunderstorm occurred in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper Punjab, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Leh remained the coldest place in the country where mercury dropped 04 C below the freezing point.

In Islamabad, minimum temperature was recorded at 08 C.

Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 89 per cent.

In Rawalpindi, minimum temperature was recorded at 14 C.

Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 79 per cent.
