Lahore, Pakistan weather update; fog may cause closure of Motorway

LAHORE – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast mainly cold and dry weather for Lahore and most parts of Pakistan during the next two days.

According to the synoptic situation, continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan.

Under these conditions, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in Lahore and most parts of the country on Tuesday night and the following two days.

Partly cloudy weather is likely in upper parts.

Partly cloudy to cloudy weather is Likely in western Balochistan.

Smog/fog is likely to persist in plains of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and upper Sindh during night hours.

Moderate to dense smog/fog is likely to disturb traffic flow on portions of Motorway (Peshawar-Swabi, Swabi-Islamabad, Pindi Bhattian-Lahore, Kallar Kahar-Pindi Bhattian, Lahore-Abdul Hakim, Sialkot-Lahore, Pindi Bhattian-Faisalabad, Faisalabad-Multan and Multan-Sukkur) and National Highway.

Less visibility may cause closure of portions of Motorway from late night to early morning.

In Lahore, minimum temperature is likely to remain between 06-08 degrees Celsius on Wednesday and 07-09 C on Thursday.

Meanwhile, cold and dry weather prevailed across Pakistan during the last 24 hours.

Leh remained the coldest place in the country where mercury dropped 08 C below the freezing point.

In Lahore, minimum temperature was recorded at 07 C.

Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 93 per cent.
