PESHAWAR – Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa government on Tuesday announced winter vacations for all educational institutions in the region.
The Education Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) issued directives to schools, notifying that schools and colleges in the summer zone (plain areas) will remain closed from December 23 to December 31.
It further said schools in the winter zone will remain closed for an extended period, and the academic activities will start from February 29, 2024.
All educational institutions in mountainous areas of KP, and Balochistan will remain closed for 2.5 months of winter vacation.
Schools are closed for longer periods as winters in mountainous regions are extremely cold as mercury drops below freezing point.
