Islamabad, Pakistan weather update; fog continues to prevail in plains

ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast mainly cold and dry weather for Islamabad, Rawalpindi and most parts of Pakistan during the next couple of days.

According to the synoptic situation, continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan.

Under these conditions, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in the twin cities and most parts of Pakistan on Wednesday night and the following two days.

Smog/fog is likely to prevail in plain areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and upper Sindh during morning and night hours.

Smog/fog may disturb vehicular movement on portions of Motorway and National Highway from late night to early morning.

In Islamabad, minimum temperature is likely to remain between 03-05 degrees Celsius on Thursday and 04-06 C on Friday.

In Rawalpindi, minimum temperature is likely to remain between 07-09 C on Thursday and 08-10 C on Friday.

Meanwhile, cold and dry weather prevailed across Pakistan during the last 24 hours.

Leh remained the coldest place in the country where mercury dropped 10 C below the freezing point.

In Islamabad, minimum temperature was recorded at 04 C.

Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 60 per cent.

In Rawalpindi, minimum temperature was recorded at 05 C.

Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 47 per cent.
