Iqbal to be remembered for providing ideological foundation to Muslims

Rich tributes were paid to the Poet of the East and Thinker of Pakistan, Allama Muhammad Iqbal at a discussion “Iqbal and the Global Imperialism” in connection with the Iqbal Day organized by the Nazriya Pakistan Council (NPC) at the Aiwan-e-Quaid, Fatima Jinnah Park.

Noted writer, historian and former Adviser to President, Dr Farooq Adil was the keynote speaker while Chairman of the NPC, Mian Muhammad Javed presided over the discussion.

Senior Vice Chairman of the NPC, Abdullah Yousuf, Secretary of the NPC Gauhar Zahid Malik and former Member of the National Assembly (MNA) and Member of the NPC Executive Committee, Mrs Farrukh Khan also participated in the discussion and emphasized the need to get guidance from Allma Iqbal’s philosophy to find a way out of the current economic, social and political quagmire. The event was attended by a good number of writers, intellectuals and youths. While explaining the Message of Allama Iqbal’s poetry, Dr Farooq Adil viewed Allama Iqbal gave a new direction to the Muslims of the subcontinent by providing ideological basis to their identity.
