In a remarkable operation led by SSP Thatta, Aftab Nizamani, local law enforcement successfully intercepted a dumper with license plate EH 421 near Gujjo city on the national highway. Their efforts led to the significant discovery of illicit materials. A total of 1600 kg of tobacco and 240 kg of betel nuts were confiscated, and two individuals, Irfan Khan and Sami Ullah Pathan, were apprehended for their involvement in distributing the dangerous chewable substance within the district.
Following the arrests, the suspects were promptly taken into custody, and both the dumper and the seized contraband materials were secured as evidence. Subsequently, a legal case was filed against the individuals under the Narcotic Act, highlighting the seriousness of their illicit activities.
It is crucial to note that the consumption and distribution of the hazardous Gutka substance have been on the rise, leading to a surge in oral cancer cases within the district. Nevertheless, the proactive and determined actions taken by local law enforcement to crack down on contraband chews have received widespread public appreciation. This underscores the significance of such enforcement in safeguarding the health and well-being of the community.
