Fakhar breaks multiple World Cup records with ton

Pakistan opener Fakhar Zaman has stamped his name in the achievements list with his sensational hundred against New Zealand on Saturday.

Fakhar accomplished the remarkable feat of hitting seven sixes against Bangladesh and 11 sixes against New Zealand, breaking the record for the most sixes by a Pakistani batsman in a single ICC World Cup.

This incredible achievement surpasses the pre-vious record of nine sixes jointly held by Imran Nazir in the 2007 World Cup and Abdullah Shafique in the 2023 edition.

Fakhar also secured the record for the fastest hundred by a Pakistani in the World Cup, reaching the milestone in just 63 balls, surpassing the previ-ous record of 95 balls held by Imran Nazir.

He has also become the first Pakistani to hit 10+ sixes in an ODI innings on two occasions. Moroever, the left-handed opener also completed his 5000 runs in international cricket in the same match where he scored 50 runs off 39 delieveries including four sixes and four boundaries.
