Crackdown against water theft continues in Punjab

Crackdown on irrigation water pilferages is in full swings while 103 cases have been registered against water pilferages in the district Hafizabad so far. This was stated in a meeting held at district complex and Deputy Commissioner Sundas Irshad presided over the meeting.

ADCR Imtiaz Ali Baig, AC Hafizabad Munawar Hussain, AC Pindi Bhattian Rashid Iqbal, police and irrigation officers attended the meeting. DC directed the irrigation and police officers to expedite action against water thieves and irrigation department submit desilting plan for removing silt from water channels to ensure smoothly flow of water as well as reach of the water at tail ends of water channels.

She directed the irrigation officers to get registered cases against landlords involved in water theft indiscriminately to eliminate menace of water pilferage. On the other hand District Hafizabad has grabbed second position in students enrolment campaign 2023 in the Punjab. Provincial Minister Education Punjab Mansoor Qadir and Secretary School Education Punjab Ahsan Waheed bestowed commendation shield to Chief Executive Officer Education Hafizabad Sohail Azhar Khan to acknowledge good performance of school education department Hafizabad. Sohail Azhar Khan said that the school education department has achieved target of student’s enrolment during 2023 under supervision of Deputy Commissioner Hafizabad Sundas Irshad and efforts of officers and teachers of the school education department Hafizabad.
